Can I get MB to service just the panoramic sunroof? I see its a £30 extra on normal A/B services but not sure if I can ask just for that.

You can ask for anything you wish. However they will probably charge more than £30 as they will charge by time, probably 1/2 hour or 1 hour where as included in the service the time is already built in.

The panoramic roof service will likely be a 10 second inspection..... does it work, yes or no?

Hiya, what's the problem ?
Nothing wrong just an ever so slight screech which I have a feeling is down to the guttering needing cleaning and grease replacing.

You can buy the grease on ebay , its about £6 for a blob . So paying £30 isn't too bad.

I bought the silicon grease on eBay and it helped for a while. But eventually the roof got slower and slower, especially in cold weather. It cost the better part of £100 for my indie to fully clean all the grit and old grease out of the tracks.

Good value at £30 then mine gets done on the 28th along with the A service

I had this happen to me. Blasted the gutters out with wd40 then regreased.

Nice technique! I’ll use it next time round...
After hoovering out the old crap loosened with a brush, I cleaned the runners with WD40 and a toothbrush.
I don't like any sort of grease so used some Scottoil chain lube I had lying around. The job has lasted 2 years and no sign that it needs doing again.

I also used this on the main runners. However I found the issue with mine was needing lube beneath the rubber guides at the rear where it's difficult to get that grease. I bought a spray can of silicon lubricant so I could spray between the rubber with the straw and it worked a treat... solved the opening/ closing issues instantly.
