Mercedes vito 110 cdi Rattle above 2500 rpm

This is my first post so hope I am doing it properly I have a Mercedes vito traveliner 2003 110 cdi rev over 2500 or under load there is a serious rattle from engine or box can anyone help please This is only when driving thanks

Thank you for your time when driving going up a hill or putting foot down a bit the noise is like a top end rattle but if I put clutch in and rev engine it sounds ok so now thinking gearbox or clutch but there is no clutch slip or power loss thanks

The ML developed a rattle in similar circumstances from the top front of the engine, it slowly got worse ending up all the time when revved. Turned out to be the High pressure pump drive dog wearing until it cracked up....
