Seen a couple of 2006 E350 Sports for sale. Do they suffer with the balance shaft problem like the 2.8 V6 engines?

Also looking at E280 and E320 CDi Sports around 2007....lovely looking cars but how reliable are they on the whole?

E320cdi sport engine is ace but make sure it's full service history. Great power and very good so iam told after remap so can't wait to get mine done ;-)

i bought a facelift w211 e320cdi around a month ago.it had a full mb service history with 110000 on the clock.i was a little concerned after reading of all the possible problems with these vehicles.however i have just completed an 1100 mile journey this week and it was faultless.averaged 41mpg overall.dont let all the possible faults put you off.auto box has had 2 oil changes in this time and was super smooth through every gear.i suppose the answer to reliability is a full service history which i confirmed with mb.all faults should have been seen to by the time you get to higher mileage.mine is a 2007 and i paid £5200 for it with a new main dealer mot.
