Still, it's nice to have a rant now and then eh!
Do a steady speed whilst changing lanes albeit left or right and the local friendly constabulary will not bother.
If this still does not satisfy your anger then block them in the middle lane behind one of the aforementioned trucks for approx 5 mins, they will soon get the message.

I drove about 2000 miles in France this summer. I have some issues with the way the French drive (too liberal with the horn and sharing the road seems to be a struggle for them...although I reckon that may have been down to my nazi car) but as a rule their lane dscipline is good. On every occasion when lanes were being hogged there was a british plate on the car, it's a massive blind spot in our driver education and can't be that hard to rectify.

For all the compliants about drivers on British Roads, a trip to eastern europe - Russia, Ukraine and Poland being good examples - will make people realise that the UK ain't so bad. I've seen some real edge-of-the-seat stuff in my time abroad and nothing in the UK comes anywhere near it.

Yeah its a massive hole in educating our drivers! i really dont agree with paul atkin on that your tube video because as per usual the decent innocent law abiding people have to 'put up' and 'live with it' while idiot and dangerous road users (also digging at buglars, violent ppl, etc etc) have to take the hit for it? Why doesn't the
police step up and bang 3 points on middle lane hoggers? according to that video it causes accidents,traffic, road rage etc, all they ever yap on about is speed kills....

Is the volvo currently dawdling in the middle lane "hogging" or in fact overtaking a truck in the distance?

Speeding is easy to define, lane hogging is not.
