- W124 300d estate and W203 320 CDi estate
reserve feature
Someone metioned the fuel reserve. I saw this metioned in the handbook for my "new" 300 mutivalve diesel 124 estate.
Has anyone used this? I am guessing that when you run out of fuel you get a reserve amount of fuel by simply realeasing the filler cap. Can this be so?
Is this why on these cars (W124) the tank always hisses so much when you remove the cap some clever valve is doing something silently deep inside the fuel system!
Im new to this MBclub but having just bought a 1996 estate in lovely condirtion I may become more involoved than i have been in 6 years of petrol engined 230TE ownership.
In 6 years and 30000 miles that car has never let me down and I have consistantly abused it!
