Missing service history?

Looked at a GLE63S today, it's Jan 2018 car with 27k miles on it. The third party dealer printed out the service history for me and it only had 2 services:

first one was in May 2019, service A at 7k miles, it says remaining time -113 days which I assume it was late service?
Then second service was carried out by this dealer in May 2021 at 27k miles but also a service A?

My understanding is that it's every year or 12500 miles for AMG and it should be A-B-A etc so it looks like the car had a late first service and missing a service B? The print out had the SecCode but I can't seem to get the online portal working so can't access MB's record but I would assume the dealer wouldn't miss a service info from the print out by any chance? In that case I'd assume I should not look back at this car any more?

It has missed a B service in 2020 and has clocked up 20k miles between the 2019 and 2021 service. (15k max).
Not totally sure, but I believe it should have had an ATF change this year (3yr or 31k miles, whichever is soonest)
I would give that a miss due to an incomplete service history.

There's always the possibility that a service B was done in May 2020 but not recorded for some reason, but the more likely explanation is that the service was skipped due to COVID-19.

I managed to get both my cars serviced in 2020 but it wasn't easy to find the dealers open. I suspect quite a few cars will have missed a service in 2020.

That said, as a buyer this isn't really your concern... either walk away, or secure a price reduction to reflect the missing service.

Thanks, I think I’ll give it a miss this one - the interior was a bit wear off too and dealer won’t let me test drive without placing a deposit (or at least promise to place deposit after test drive). Just had a quick free check and it hasn’t been taxed since apr this year too. Given I’m buying my first AMG I think better for me to look elsewhere and find a much simpler sample.

Thanks for your comments. Could be some other reasons but like you said not my concern I just want to purchase one with FSH for further resell value/ easier to sell - not many new listings but have to be patient 😉

That’s odd. They should be very relaxed about a test drive, and without any pressure. I’ve bought a couple of cars from these guys (recommended) and they usually give me the keys and I can practically go where I want for as long as I want..

Wow, surely that can’t be a main dealer. Who and why would they suggest that. Not the ideal customer service. I would walk away just for that reason alone.

Do you have registration? They could have recorded as service but not updated DSB. This is a common occurrence. I know May 2020 Mercedes reopened to do servicing so there is no excuse to miss it

I have to say I arrived late at about 5.15pm (but they open til 9pm), and they had to move 4-5 cars out of the way to get the GLE out for a test drive, or could be the relatively new sales person - I asked twice for test drive and he wanted to talk about the numbers first (he meant the value of my PX car) and second time he wanted to know if I'm interested to place a deposit yesterday. So I lost interest and just had a quick look at a GLC63S, which had a dead battery so couldn't test drive anyway..

Thanks for the link, they have some nice C63's but not GLE - I may have to wait sometime as new listings are minimum at the moment.

I do have the reg and secCode as well, is there a way to double check on this? I'd still hesitate to buy from this dealer though given the experience etc.

The DSB is updated manuly by the tech, and they do make mistakes from time to time.

ASSYST is updated via STAR, and again, if the wrong information is keyed-in, ASSYST will no longer be correct.

Unfortunately ASSYST and the DBS don't talk to each other directly, so they can end-up misaligned if incorrect information is entered on either.
