For the first time in 8 years of recent Mercedes ownership, one of my cars has been 'kept in overnight'.:(
Couple of weeks ago, a day after its first service my wife’s ML suspension went solid on her way to work. Called Mercedes rescue who came quickly and found that the car had logged 'possible Airmatic control problem'. But of course the car was fine when switched back on and continued that way for the next 10 days. Yesterday the fault recurred and the suspension again went into a rigid 'self preservation' mode. Rescue service again was swiftly to the car which had cleared the fault again when restarted. But I felt this time it should go to the dealers and be fixed properly. They agreed with me and have ordered a new Airmatic control ECU...which will take about 7 days (or so) to arrive! In the meantime we have a brand new CLS 320 with importantly, pre-wire and COMAND. Not sure where the dogs will go, ‘cos they aren’t allowed in my S Class!
The CLS is only about half the height of the ML, so I guess I'm now experiencing the highs and lows of Mercedes ownership (multiple puns intended!):

wow, great courtesy car! I got a B180 CDI today! My GL had an airmatic recall on the compressor pump, could that be the problem?

The CLS is courtesy of the Mercedes rescue service (actually an Enterprise rental car!) not the dealer who didn't have anthing until...
All the hardware on the Airmatic, apart from what the control unit is saying, seems fine so I hope we have pin-pointed the right bit!
