All sorted. School boy error I thought both hoses were the same temp at the fire walk but what I was feeling was the hot inlet but the outlet was warm because the heat was backing up around the system. Got a garden hose and flushed it backwards. Lots of brown water. Reconnected and all working lovely. Thanks for your help. It us very appreciated

Did you put in anti-freeze?

Yes just to get me through till I can do a full flush hopefully this weekend before the snow come

a star machine will bring up a fault code that the water circulation pump is faulty

last time i bought one they cost around £200

Just a thought but have you checked the thermostat ?

The aux pump is the first thing I changed but didnt check the hoses at the firewall. Instead felt the heat backing up along the outlet hose and assumed it was altight. The aux pump wasnt circulating and was probably burnt out. All sorted and working really well now. Just in time as I hear snow is on the way!!
