Hy Guys.

I did a search and couldn't find a thread, so apologies if been said before.

Recently purchased a 1st gen ML 270. Running it has no problems? No black smoke, 30MPG and more, even though the thermostat is a little cooler than hoped, however will be replacing. My trouble is I have noticed it has started to develop a leak in what seems to be the steering rack. I have attached a photo and pointed out a droplet.

Since I first spotted this, I am noticing what appears to be leaks of something...ran my finger and it was clean. I did get a 3 month warranty, 12 months MOT, however the garage is a 140 mile round trip (bought the car as it was described as perfect, no issues etc....I have found tons of things that don't make it perfect lol).

My tool box is lent out with the star shaped tool to take off the engine covers - not that I no what to look for mind! however wanted to see if any black oils around the engine bay etc, even though they replaced the 5 injector ring/seals I was told before I picked it up. I have included a pic of the engine also to ask where to look for the common oil engine leaks.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Any advice much appreciated....also this morning (following on from limp mode post last night) whilst I was waiting to add some fuel, I experienced a sensation (ooh err) where whilst footpedal brake applied in drive, there was something rattling/jerking back and forth what apparied to be under the auto gearbox. It did this twice. One of the wheels may have been slightly higher as on top of a metal grid you see between the forecorts...could that be a cause as after filling up,waiting in traffic etc it didn't do it.

The last time I was so paranoid about a car I had an RX8 :)

I expect the inlet manifold is leaking. Very common issue.
