I have a ML320 (2003 model). 50K miles, full service history. Looked after.

Converted to run of gas at 10K miles by prior owner (my dad) who ran it faultlessly for 30K miles.

It then started having issues which lead to plugs, coils, O2 sensor, crank sensor, leads etc being replaced by a local independant grage who we have usesd for years, a MB specialist and a franchised MB dealer. The fault remained my pockets were empty.

The symptons are.

On start up (hot or cold) and intermitently (50% of the time) there is a hestitency to tick over smoothly, like a plug has been disconnected. Trying to drive away it feels like 2-3 plugs are disconnected. Leave the vehicle for 1-2 minutes and all is fine, be it a short or long journey.

The symptons are present on gas and petrol.

The only time the problem went away was when the LPG was diconnected at the harness (not turned off by the switch). Then it ran fine for three months.

As petrol is expensive I reconnected the LPG system expecting the fault to be present straight away. It was not, it took 3 months to show itself again.

Thereafter I would clear the fault codes on the ECU and then disconnect the battery for an hour and the vehicle would run seemlessly for 2-4 works. Then it would show the mentioned symptons. Then I would reset.

Today however as soon as the LPG system is switched on it runs like a pig, its as if its running on less then six cylinders.

The following codes aply...

PO305 Generic cylinder 5 misfire.
PO135 sensor heater circuit malfunction bank 1 sensor 1
PO155 generic 02 sensor malfunction banl 2 sensor 1

Comments please

Looks like your 02 Sensor has gone bad.

And the Misfire could possibly be your LPG injector needs cleaning.

This isn't really a forum for LPG cars, but if you tell me your system I can give you sometimes, my C200 is LPG and fitted myself (KME)

I've had much experience with LPG from Single Point Mixers Systems to the Latest Prins Fully Sequential.

LPG System

Its a BRC Genius Max I think
