Good afternoon all.

My 2007 W164 has factory bi-xenon headlights. Main beam is fine, but dipped beam is rather yellow and lacking in intensity. Are these the right type of replacement bulb, could someone tell me, please?

For average eyes you will see more with a lower colour temp....about 5k max is best for illumination. From testing it has been found that 4300K produces the ultimate light color when considering brightness and visibility.

Are they the right type of replacement bulb, though?

Not quite right for my car, though; it has bi-xenons, and that site thinks it has H7 main beams.

It reveals that the original bulbs I posted are almost certainly wrong, though; I need D2S, not D1S, bulbs, I think.

Do you not have original handbook? Mine has a list of which bulbs go where.

Forgot about that...Doh! They are indeed D2S bulbs. Looks like the datacard I have is wrong, though, and that bulb website is correct, because the handbook doesn't mention xenon bulbs for main beam either.

From memory Bi Xenon use a shutter to alter the pattern for dipped beam and opens the shutter for main plus the H7 as supplementary main beam.

That's how (I think) it was on my W211 hence the dual headlamp lenses each side.

Now you mention it, istr mine was the same. That would explain it.
