SLK55 £7.5K?

The damage was October 2017 front wing and side skirt maybe some suspension but nothing stands out the colour is 1 ive not seen or heard of its
Cubanite silver full history on database till 2021 103k all paperwork present since including plugs, transmission and all filters recent MPS4 rears and rear pads and handbrake shoe's, cam covers done
And does drive in a straight line 🙂 id say its louder than the c63 but does have the xpipe fuel wise i was shocked at 26 mpg over 140 miles home 😁
So it’s category S, not category C then.

There really is no argument of opinion here, just simple facts. It’s either one or the other :)

Well done that man; I thought it seemed like a good 'un. Not keen on the two-tone steering wheel, tbh, though.

Shocked by the fuel consumption in a good or a bad way?

In a good way I was expecting less but I was only doing 60mph in the torrential rain

Bargain well done slim.

Definitely seemed cheap enough for what it was :)

No real risk at this sort of price point regardless of the history :thumb:

In all fairness how many AMGs are on the road without the owner's knowing the cars history at least I know what it is he was also a nice chap which always helps 👍

There’s no doubt plenty that have been damaged and repaired without any marker against them, certainly when they were new/valuable.

Just so you know though, this one was definitely recorded category S in December 2017 (19/12/17) according to the report posted by the OP in post #34

Category C had been discontinued by this point, but from the damage you mention it could easily have been a category D if it was damaged a little earlier in its life :)

I suspect the ‘structural’ part of this claim could have been a dent or crease on the inner wing or sill from what you say about the damage.

Yes I did a car vertical check on it before I bought it and it was dec not oct as I mentioned above my mistake the report says no information available, there is no sign of damage to the inner wing so I'm presuming it would of been a dint in the sill but I'm not taking that off

And what category did Car Vertical have it recorded as, S or C?

😂🤦‍♂️

We got there in the end :)

For completeness, regards the picture of the logbook you posted - that statement was for category S vehicles.

The main reason category C vehicles usually had a note on the V5C was because of the VIC scheme. The logbook was taken away and you had to have the identity checked to get the DVLA to reissue a new one.

The reason for this was because category C cars by their very nature were expensive to repair with new parts and commercial repair costs, so there was a lot of ‘ringers’ - stolen cars with the identity of salvage vehicles :(
