When is 5 minutes not 5 minutes?

Called Mobilo at 7.05pm this evening as the battery warning light had come on and I have a long drive tomorrow and don't want to risk breaking down on the motorway. The people at Mobilo are really really helpful and quickly agreed to recover my car and arrange for an Enterprise rental car to be supplied.

And this is when it all started to go wrong.

Had a call quickly from Enterprise at 7.17pm to say that they were very busy and they didn't have any suitable cars but could let me have a Ford Focus. They would call me back before 8.30pm to tell me what time they would pick me up.

At 8.45pm I call Moblio again to say I haven't heard from Enterprise as promised - I was put through and told someone at Enterprise who said 'we'll have someone call you in 5 mins'. 20 mins later I call again and guess what - 'we'll have someone call you in 5 mins' another 20 mins go past and I call again and again 'we'll have someone call you in five mins' This is getting seriously frustrating now.

Just now (9.41pm) I have a call to say that they are now coming to get me and it will take them half an hour (Bow to SE21) and then take me up to Waterloo to get the car.

In the meantime, the recovery firm is also busy but not to worry, they will be with me no later than 9.45pm.

Update to follow.

But why do they over promise on when they will contact me and under deliver so badly. The actual service itself from Mobilo is first class, if only their suppliers were up to the same standard.
