Moose fatality caught on camera

The driver was taken to hospital but was discharged on the same day without injuries. The moose died instantly unfortunately.

The trouble with moose accidents is the likelihood of injury/fatality extending to driver/passengers due to its mass. The moose in the clip is a young calf, but a grown male can weigh up to 700kg (although this would be an exceptionally large moose). Imagine getting one of those through your windscreen at motorway speeds.

Difficult to judge whether the moose just sneaked under the dividing wires in the middle of the road but it didn't look like the driver tried to stop or swerve...

I hit a stag at 60mph in an XR3i many years ago. Literally jumped an embankment fence and ran toward me. I was extremely fortunate the thing didn't come through the windscreen and it shook me up to realise how close a call I had.
I wouldn't fancy hitting a full grown moose.
