hard starting saga.
my so called mechanic has called to say that there is no power (current being fed to the glow plugs), this is after taking the head off to change glow plugs(which he said was the fault) ,

all filters have been changed
also the fuel lines have been changed
oil has been changed.

any ideas as to why there is no power to the glow plugs will be appreciated.

he(mechanic) did mention that it might be the glow plug heating relay but at this time i dont really trust him.

please please help

relay

i have just had a look and there is a metal strip bolted on with two nuts that is broken could that be what i need to change to sort this problem out?

I am sorry that I cant answer that, I could only give some guidance as to where the fault was

I hope that someone else will help

Taking a wild guess based on your description I'd say the fuse in the realy has popped and needs to be replaced

This engine is famous for snapping glowplugs. IMHO they should only be replaced by someone who has lots of experience

That does sound like a fusible link you're describing if it looks cracked it' probably just a fatigue fracture if it's blown it will be obviously burnt ;)

:)replaced the fuseable link and the car starts and runs properly
thanks everyone for your help.
