Popped into Lidl and spotted this cheap (£3.99) and cheerful pretty well designed and robust magnetic parts bowl. I have various (metal) ones and this one will be a nice addition I reckon.

They also have hand held IR thermo scanners for £14.99 - I remember the days when this kind of device costs in the hundreds £ - useful for many things . I have used the one I have had for years both in industry and in the home/workshop. It cost way more than £14.99 ...that's progress.

They also have digital Vernier at £7.99 , £7.99 !! I know they are not top notch but good enough for home use . I remember the first time I saw a digital Vernier, It was locked away and only certain staff members could sign it out, that's how expensive it was .

P.S I do not work for Lidl. Or any of the Chinese companies that supply them tis stuff . :)

I'm disappointed.

When I saw the thread title I was expecting to learn that they'd got in a fresh supply of wetsuits, or trombones... :dk:
:) Never seen a trombone in Lidl, but they have in the past had at varying times ukuleles and sets of bongos.
Just a thought: if they had violins, would they be The Fiddle of Lidl 🤔

My favourite thing that they have occasionally is welder's masks. I'm not a welder but I do understand the importance of a mask and if I was a welder, the one thing I would attach a huge amount of importance to would be something that protects my eyes, and therefore I'd be unlikely to get one from Lidl!

They had some yesterday. Welders masks. The ones that go dark when you start. I think was£23

Can't remember if it was Lidl or Aldi, but my most well used and best value buy of this nature has been a 5.5hp Scheppach wacker plate. It gets loads of use surprisingly. Once the grounds are fully renovated I'll sell it and get most of my £300 money back I hope.

Lidl also apparently have 99p leather demisting sponges available at the moment. About £4+ everywhere else, so I should load up for the wife. MrsGreedy likes to use an oily rag to dentist the windscreen in the morning 😄 so the next time I use the car I have to faff around with windscreen cleaner and cloths because I hate to drive with anything other than near 100% visibility.

Ah but would you trust them to provide food that you actually put into your body? :D

😋😋

They also have the electric oil pump for £12.99. Well worth the money

😍😍 Love the stuff.
For me these days it's a close run second to this:

Although none of them taste as good here as they do in their native setting:(
Anyway, Fix not available in Lidl, so apologies for taking this thread OT.
As you were.....

Alfa is our favourite though.

The FIX adverts on tv in Greece were brilliant.

No Mythos and no Staropramen which is also on offer in my local store - totally sold out. Bugger.
Got 5x of the demister pads though. That should see us through a couple of years at least.

Some of the Ultimate Speed stuff seems OK - I currently have the battery condition monitor rigged up on the S204 visible through the tailgate so I can keep an eye on when the battery needs charging, plus am using their battery conditioner on the SLK for the past 9 months without problem (but have my old faithful available if it throws a wobbler!).

Oh, and the Ctek time to go is only £59.99 at the moment. Not that great saving over Amazon who also have on offer at the moment at about £64

I bought one of those too.
Used it once to test and not used it since.

Not really automotive related but those tomato planter things are great. For many years we struggled with those bag based planters but since moving to the plastic pots similar to the Lidl ones our tomato yield is the envy of all our neighbours!

Bought a portable tire Compressor from Lidl a while back, Its great! Had to use it a few times on a flat, just plug it in the cigarette lighter and it will inflate it. for £35 it was a bargain!
