2017 E class. Left hand side multi media display is now completely blank. Doesn’t matter what buttons I press. I have lost all the functionality of the telephone, the sat nav, the radio and the Apple car play. If I engage reverse the screen shows the rear camera and reversing sensors and if I select any of the air con or heating buttons that works too. It’s obvious that the screen still works but not the multi media system.
Any ideas??

Honestly pull the battery for a while first to make sure it properly reboots. Likely it won't fix anything but worth a try

That... or pull only the relevant fuse ;)

Any idea where the fuse box is?? I’m praying it’s that as I’m off on holiday for 3 weeks on Wednesday and I can’t imagine not having sat nav or music for that time. If it’s not the fuse and the battery doesn’t reset it have you any idea what it might be??

Your handbook will tell you the location of the relevant fuse(a)

Be gentle please!! I’m a bit embarrassed to confess that my wife may have just pressed the off button. I honestly didn’t even know there was one until I was searching online for troubleshooting. Anyway, the next 3 weeks look a lot rosier now I’ve turned it back on. 😂
In my defence I’m still relatively new to the car. 😉

No need to be embarrassed!

Glad you have it sorted and you can enjoy your holiday

My better half switched-off COMAND while I was on a roundabout looking for the correct exit for the M25... she wanted to "switch off the radio"... sh*t happens :D

Don’t feel bad! I have had a number of new e class and never had a problem until I hired one during a trip to Scotland. Same thing as yours, no sat NaV etc. Went back to the agent who showed me the on/off switch. Found mine when I got back home!

Can someone please tell me where the on-off switch is, so I don't hit it by accident? I tried every switch I could find and none turned it back on.
My screen went blank on startup and I didn't notice my better half turning it off. I tried turning the engine off at traffic lights, but that didn't help. But after I had parked and locked the car, when I started the engine again, the screen came on as normal. What a relief!

It varies by your model, but it's usually the big round knob that controls the volume - it also switches-off the entire unit, if you press it.

Mine was to the right of the rotary switch below the “roller” volume selector.
