My C43/C55 Conversion

Not yet. Just some Kleeman cams. The K will be later

Ah ok mate, are you transfering your other mods over to the 55 lump i.e. pulley, airbox etc
Should be a proper weapon when it's done :D

Do you think a SL55 supercharger will directly swop onto the E55 engine with the manifold of course ?

Can't see why not. I am probably going to go for a SC that sits on the right hand side of the bay.

All the other mods will stay.

Yeah plenty of room there :thumb: be good to see it when it is finished.
I will do mine aswell at some point, just got to find a lowish mile 55 lump at a good price ;)

Well I have just fitted a set of 18" staggered monoblocks to my 43 and I,m surprised at the difference in drive and even the way it looks it seems to have more of a presence now, I thought it would make it look to high but it looks just right on standard springs and Bilsteins. Though the rear wheels are going to have to come off and have some narrower tyres fitted as the 265s are rubbing slightly.
Also had a nice present from the states delivered too, I have bought 2 pairs of exhaust manifolds for a 113 V8, same ones as Robin (rawc43) bought he kindly supplied me the link to the supplier who was excellent and posted them within hours of me paying, indeed they ordered at approx. 11pm last bank holiday Monday and they were delivered at 9 this morning by fed-ex, and that was from Addison Texas, to say I,m impressed is an understatement, I have waited longer for items sourced from this country.

Yes the 18" Monoblocks just finish the car off, that was the first mod i did on the C43.

Since I fit my 18"s I have been amazed at how stable it is at speed compared to the 17s

Yeah, quite a bit, wouldnt want to ever go bigger Worth it though as they fit the arches just right

You summed it up Karl, though I have,nt driven to far as yet and only at very low legal speeds because of the rubbing tyre issue, the car is so much more stable, the steering even feels more positive and "connected" if that makes sense.
NW Merc if you look at the link below it tells you all the info you need to know just ensure you get the right tyres, as mine had come off of a 210 the rear tyres were 265, but when fitted to a 202 they need to be 255 :wallbash:

AMG alloy wheels | Genuine new 18" AMG II | fits Mercedes C Class Saloon W202 | Alloy Wheels Direct Ltd

I have W210 size tyres fitted to mine aswell, if im on the motorway at speed and travel over a large hump in the road I get a split second of rubbing from the fronts.

I have just looked and I have the wrong tyres all round, I did,nt realise the fronts were a different size as well, though I have had no rubbing on the front as yet i expect I,ll have the same issues as you karl.
I bought my rear tyres part worn Saturday just gone I am hoping they will exchange them for the right size if they have them in stock, now I,m gonna have to ask if they will swap my front tyres as well for the right size. :wallbash:

What would be the price of the conversion if an engine was supplied along with a c43 :-)

Very very interested

Give Olly a ring at PCS a Forum Trader 02392 570123. Has done many conversions. highly recommended.

As Peter, give Olly a ring mine was the first one done "documented on the forum" and he has carried out at least half a dozen possibly more.

Excellent thread - jaysus this is a tempting mod for sure !

Lenny was thinking the same
