Definite proof that bus drivers cant drive.
Cant you claim from the garage insurance
Cant you sell the photos to Snap on?
quoting that their toolboxes can hold up a bus

limited edition, No 124 of 385, or should i say 384 now, its with the engineering manager at the mo but not getting any satisfaction as yet to weither its gonna be replaced

Seeing that Ulsterbus obviously expect you to provide your own tools, i'd claim off their insurance.

Is a £2395 tool box not insured?

I'm guessing it's far to good a tool kit for working on a bus, just buy a series of big hammers.

Hope you get it sorted.

*also can you not purchase a new case, the tools inside will be ok?

its was one of the other mechanics who didnt even have a bus test, he was testing the gear box, bus took off and i think he hit the accelerator instead of brake, by time he got handbrake it was too late,
they already have one of a lorry sittin on 6 boxs:dk:

Man, that looks like a lucky escape. Surly your employer will pay for the damage as the bus must be covered by insurance?

If not and you don't want a damaged tool box I would be willing to swap, as long as you leave all the tools in. Mine is a halford stack and i have a nice selection of spaners (all different makes.

Let me know, oh and I hope no one was hurt in the accident

I think 2395 is the price of the box...

they just give us a few sockets and spanners, not half enough to do the job right

Then your employer should pay for a replacement!!
i hope so

tried getting insurance off snapon but there only running a pilot scheme in the mainland not over here, work should have some sort of insurance, the tools are fine the box is that price empty!!!!

The company should be thankful it's only a couple of tool boxes they are being asked to replace, albeit expensive ones.

A badly damaged bus or, even worse, the death of an employee on their hands would have been far more serious.

YOU could always say 'Is your insurance going to pay for this or have i got to sue you ?' That should get a response, as long as its not 'You're fired'

exactly! the damage of the other fellas box is £1400, he was the one caused the damage, they think if the boxs were not there she would have went on down in the sunken workshop

well then they wud get sued for unfair dimissal as i had nothing to do with the accident

by the way do you play for a pipeband

There's a new McLaren Snap On roll cab on eBay now for £1,000, get it quickly and you'll earn £1,400 if you get weighed out for the damage.

I'll be stunned if you aren't reimbursed.

oh boy the health and safety guys will be rubbing their hands with glee, duty of care, persons operating vehicles that they don't have a license for. The risk management issues they will look at will make life interesting for management.

As for your tool kit you should be able to claim for it against their insurers assuming you have it insured and assuming it was on the premises with your employers permission.

I have the same box with the side cabinet and the trolly too. I have number 11.

It is MY baby and if it was damaged like that I would be VERY VERY angry. I worked very hard to be able to afford that box. What did the bloke who drove the bus say to you?
