My New 2017 C43 AMG Coupe Premium Plus Detail

I was going to ask what is the cost for doing the sealant and machine polish and separately for the paint protection film? Ive just done the bonnet of my car with PPF to protect it.

Forgive my ignorance but I really don't understand why people with brand new cars spend many £'s protecting the paint work in order to keep it looking a little bit shinier than it would have been. In most cases owners change their cars around the 3-4 year mark so the car is relatively still new(ish) so should look pretty clean anyway. All this money -to me- get's washed away. Or have I missed something?

If I had a car like this I probably would also have the money to spend on making it look shinier than new.... and I would! Same reason we buy a marque car over a Ford/Fiat, same mentality I mean. I fully embrace this mentality :)

Because for 3-4 years it gleams, less washing and probably not much difference in the amount of money spent first compared to per wash

Compared to the cost of a new (posh) car, a new car protection detail is a relatively small cost. Whether it's worth is a personal choice. Whether the new car is worth it in the first place is another personal choice.

For me, I like a spangly car so I do have my cars professionally detailed, and the cost is worth it for me ...so I get the spangly car without taking up my free time. Whilst I loved it in my younger years, now I'm old I don't enjoy it at all!

I'm only 36 going 37 and crossing this borderline myself. I love working on my own cars and gives a great sense of ownership but I'm struggling finding the time. Problem is I'm also struggling finding the money for a full paint correction on a 3 year old motor.

Simply put, polishing my car is polishing my ego, I love it!

Detailing is like a lit of expenses where cars are concerned, its not really necessary but if you want to spend the money then why not. Personally its not for me but then i spend money on stuff that i am sure people similarly ask why?

Perhaps, but my point is that the car will be a little shinier and probably fetch exactly the same £ when sold after 3-4 years so I think to me that's a complete waste of £. I would have thought regular washing and waxing would suffice on a new car up to it's 3rd birthday.

Some people would say have a 43 when you could have a 220, others would say why buy new when you can buy 12 months old, others might say why have a C when you can have a CLA, etc.

We all buy things which could be seen as a waste of £ to those around us.

Sorry I thought we were talking about how much shinier any car can be if you spend loads of £ on it so the actual make/model of car is irrelevant.

In 3 years your paintwork will have an unbelievable amount of defects.
We all know that Shmee has a few spare pound notes and this wouldn't make sense to a lot of owners, but he and Nabil from Topaz believe that cars come from factory needing correction.
