So, from Bathgate, that gets me about as far as Darlington before, presumably, I'll need an overnight to recharge.

And not quite Berwick-on-Tweed with the caravan on the back.

Why can't we drop into existing petrol stations, simply drop our spent battery in to be charged and pick up a new fully charged one and drop it in, the same way as you can with BBQ gas canisters ?

That way the issue of doing 150 miles or 50 miles and then needing to charge for 6 hours would be null and void ?

The battery in the electric Ford Focus weighs 200 Kilos. That might make swapping a bit of an ordeal.
