Ford() courier diesel.

Got about 100 yards up the road and it slowly died.
Cranked it for a bit and it started. Then died again after about 15 seconds.
Started it a few more times but it kept doing the same - cutting out after a short while.

Any ideas what to check for before I phone RAC tomorrow?

Many thanks
Jay.

fuel starvations / injectors faling? blockage in air intakes? could be a milllion and one things :S

Fuel pump?

Fuel filter?

Sensor (or wire) broken - engine management?

Thanks.

I'll have a prod round in the morning, but think it will be the RAC.

Damn thing costs me a fortune!!

The bad news is that it will probably be either the pump ECU or the pump body worn out, or both. They are notorious for going South.

I hope it's an air leak..

Well it's a good job I didn't phone the RAC....
....Because I'm with the AA. Doh!:D

Anyway, A very nice man came out and diagnosed a split in the fuel line which was sucking in air.
A bit of pipe to bridge the split and all is fine.
