My W124 Coupe Project

Thinking of getting a few more bits, what are your thoughts

Gear Stick?

MERCEDES BENZ w124 w201 w202 91-93 AMG AUTOMATIC WOOD STICK GEAR SHIFT KNOB | eBay

AMG Boot Badge?
Should I stick one on or leave de-badged? (cant find a genuine badge for my year/model, all the ones on ebay are for the newer cars)

Rear Boot lid Star Badge
I have noticed some people do not have this on, what do you guys think ?

CD / Cassette Player ?
Any ideas of any good systems?

Yes I know I need a new steering wheel lol, I will be getting a wood/leather one.

Dont think that gear shift knob is genuine. AMG ones are very rare but you can often pick up sportline knobs especially on german e-bay.

For Cd/radio I can recommend Becker headunits. No longer made but again available on e-bay. They look OEM - just be careful getting the right display colour - sound superb and some have bluetooth and satnav built in. I have Cascade in mine and it really is excellent.

Mats to OEM quality from Special Vehicle Services Ltd

Thanks for the info will check eBay.de and also these guys for mats, do you know if main dealer sell the boot lid AMG badges?

To be honest don't know how much they go for but not too much :) do you have one If so what do you want for it ?

I may be able to source an original for you if i know what is you max spend i can find out...to give you an idea i saw one on eBay about a year ago for i think it was £200.

Dont think the genuine badges are available from MB. Lots of fakes out there. Personally I would leave it without any badges. If it has not got the AMG engine then leave the badges off. The wheels and bodykit are tasteful extras but to put the badges on is just a bit too much for my taste.

These were my initial thoughts but thought might look bit plain but probably wil do this then.

Hi mate

Thanks for the offer but £200 in my opinion is too much for a badge so will give it a miss :)

I've got some genuine Mercedes ribbed mats in black which are less than a year old, they're for a saloon so not sure if they'll fit a coupe? I'll check condition of them tomorrow and let you know. Whereabouts are you?

Thanks for that, based in Leicestershire

They're 9/10 condition, just need a brush and a clean. They cost me £65-ish & Shipping from memory so you can have them for £40 + Shipping. PM me if your still interested.

Unfortunately exhaust did not fit, as the part that connects the middle box to the back box is smaller on the pre-face lift 230CE compared to the E220 coupe which this exhaust is originally made for so I have decided to sell this one on and leave the standard exhaust on for now until I find one that goes straight on. Pictures of car will be uploaded shortly

Things to do:

> Replace exhaust
> Replace Steering wheel
> Find Black Original mats
> Fit CD Player

Any ideas where I can get an adapter? The guys who were going to fit it said can do some welding to it but I didn't really wanna do that

Looks really nice.... Being a prefacelift, I would stick on a set of orange indicators and side repeaters but leave the rear ones as they are....

If the car was a dark colour maybe the contrast of the clear indicators against the dark paintwork would work, but with it being white a splash of colour is in order imo....

Great effort though looks spot on....

it looks really good

i bet your pleased

what steering wheel are you after?
