Mysterious “bong” as we pass a specific location

Mine does this. It’s the Navi system telling me a potential speed camera area is coming up..

Could be a favorite location on the satnav, have a look in the saved locations.
Can't really help anymore than that.

Sounds like my car with personal POI (speed camera alerts etc.) but a favourite location sounds more likely, I have not used it and didn't know it gives this "bong" too.

I'm with the majority here, I reckon it's some sort of POI on the satnav.

Not sure that yours is, but when I set a personal poi on my car it does "boing" once whenever I go past that point so as others have said, go through your personal poi's and have a look?

Today, right on cue there was a bong as I passed Strensham services which reminded that I had forgotten to ask Mrs D to film it.

It also reminded me that I hadn’t checked personal POIs, but when I did there it was, albeit as coordinates rather than an address.

I must have stored that location accidentally at some point because I don’t even use personal POI, maybe I should!

Could it be that "the only other"

is owned by someone who works at Strensham Services, and your W166 senses it's presence via Mercedes Me, mistakes it for your own steed & wants to alert you to her stablemates proximity.?

I scoured the areas surrounding Strensham services and found some much more common Black Series models including an SLS Black Series, a GT Black Series, three C 63 Black Series, an SL 65 Black Series, and even an SLK 55 Black Series, but no sign of the the unicorn that is the Mercedes-AMG ForFour Black Series Night Edition Premium Plus 125 Navi powered by Brabus.

Thank you for the suggestion though, you never know, Christmas could have come early.

Bang on cue, this evening the car bonged as we approached Strensham Services. I’ve decided not to delete the POI so that it continues to make me jump out of my skin!
