Hi All

The nearside brake light has stopped working (C32). I've tried 2 new bulbs, and its still doesn't work. Any idea what it maybe?

Thanks

iirc, the rear lights are fed from the rear Sam and have the silly bulb swapping feature. Possibly the Sam gone u/s if not fuse or wiring as suggested.

Does the rear lights have a independent fuse. 1 per light as all the rest work?

Thanks for your help so far.

I've founf that they're also very sensitive. Have you carefully checked the rating of the bulbs you've used? I put the facelift rear clusters on mine and they use a 21W / 4W bulb as opposed to 21W / 5W more typically found. Can't remember what type of bulb is used on a pre-facelift.

I've found that OSRAM bulbs or those from Merc seem to be less prone to error than the sort of bulb you may find in a Petrol station forecourt or Halfords. Try a known brand like OSRAM or Bosch.

Also have you tried moving the 'failed bulb' to the other side to see if the fault follows the bulb?

I have tried 2 Bosch bulbs (twin pack). not seen if the bulb works in the offside cluster. But having looked closely at the bulb I think its fine.

So I'm guessing it must be something else.

Have you checked the bulb rating is exactly the same as what is needed.

It's also worth checking the bulb that is known to work (from the other side). This may help you narrow down where the fault is.

I've found that they can be tempremental.

hi . try first swapping with a working lamp from the other side. i found on my c 320 that only bulbs from mb seem to work.
