CL500 with Brabus Bits and 1 Big Suprise
The day before New Year, its probably going to be quite in here tonight but I'll try my luck anyway. As some of you already know I broke 1 alloy wheel very recently by hitting a pothole. I have Brabus Monoblock IV split rims on my car but unfortunately as yet I have yet to find a replacement wheel. However I have come across a seller who has Brabus Monoblock IV 18x8.5 (he has all 4) 1 piece wheels at a very reasonable price. My question is would it look weird if I had 1 piece wheels on the front and 3 piece wheels on the back ?? Any help would be appreciated. :thumb::thumb:

Is you wheels the same size as his?Are you saying that the only diff is that his one are replica so they don`t split?

His wheels are original Brabus Monoblock IV 1 Piece. My wheels are Monoblock IV 3 Piece. His front wheels are 8.5x18 (same as mine) but the difference is the are not split rims. I would like to keep my rear split rims on the car and replace the front wheels with 1 piece genuine Brabus Monoblock IV's. Would this look ok ?? Thanks

It should be ok than, but that`s just my view

This thread is useless without pics....

This thread is going to be difficult unless I post up some pictures. Hope this works and I hope it helps.

Why not just swap the whole set to the 1-pc wheels until you locate a replacement 3-pc wheel, and then swap them all back again - selling the 1-pc wheels on at that time?

purely because...

I wont be able to sleep at night, I'll throw myself of a bridge. Its either these or AMG wheels but everything on my car is Brabus, so they will look a little odd.:thumb:

I meant swap to the Brabus 1-pc wheels you found a full set of, but as an interim measure only until you get the right 3-pc wheel you need.

That's what I'd do rather than run a mixture of 1-pc and 3-pc.

Don't

mix them up it will look awful. BobbyDazzler makes a sound recommendation IMHO.
Just my twopenny'orth :thumb:

I agree with Bobby Dazzler and Flat6buster - keep them all the same. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all that, but I don't think a mix and match of wheels would suit the car at all.

Don't mix them up. It will look ridiculous.

As many have said on your other thread, find a replacement wheel from a reputable seller (Brabus, Mercedes, etc) no matter how much more it costs. Find out the council in charge of that road you cracked your tire on, go on their website and find how to make a claim. Then get them to pay for the replacement.

In the meantime just get a cheap replacement wheel. I don't think you need a whole new set. What will you do with them in one month when you get your replacement wheel paid for by the council?

Put 2 the same on each side. You can't see all 4 at the same time and each side will look fine.

I agree .... all or nothing .... it will look a 'bitsa' car if you mix them up.

Buy some stock CLS wheels and put them on for the winter , thereby giving you time to find the correct wheels , and as a bonus protecting the Brabus wheels from the salt and grit on the roads over the winter.

Another one for all or nothing. When I see a car like yours with wheels like that (or even lesser wheels) I would always walk round it for a shuftie and some admiration not to mention a bit of dreaming. It would "spoil" it if all four wheels were not the same. If three were the same, I may think, ah puncture, and let you off with a small "minus" mark but not two and two.
Best Wishes for a Peacful New Year. Go for all four.

If they are 3 piece wheels, can you not just replace the damaged element, i.e. outer, inner or centre boss?

Happy new Year to all, this year has started and I have had good news already. After searching the world a billion times a day, I have finally sourced a proper Brabus Monoblock IV 3 Piece split rim. I cant believe my luck, its pricey but I need it bad so I must pay.

New setup is going to be 9.5x18 all round. I don't think I am going to stick with the staggered setup/look. Has anyone got any views on colour combinations ?? I was thinking to paint the centres a funky colour, I know this is against purist rules but I love the "euro" look and want to try something different. I was thinking glossy blue (darkish) centres and white dishes or candy apple green centres with white dishes. Anyone got any suggestions ?? if I get this rim nxt week, I will refurb them myself and get them on the car asap (hopefully by the end of the week).

Glad you sourtced your spare.
Same all round is best option for me
