Need advice, would this look right ?

Happy new Year to all, this year has started and I have had good news already. After searching the world a billion times a day, I have finally sourced a proper Brabus Monoblock IV 3 Piece split rim. I cant believe my luck, its pricey but I need it bad so I must pay.

New setup is going to be 9.5x18 all round. I don't think I am going to stick with the staggered setup/look. Has anyone got any views on colour combinations ?? I was thinking to paint the centres a funky colour, I know this is against purist rules but I love the "euro" look and want to try something different. I was thinking glossy blue (darkish) centres and white dishes or candy apple green centres with white dishes. Anyone got any suggestions ?? if I get this rim nxt week, I will refurb them myself and get them on the car asap (hopefully by the end of the week).

Do you have apic of the car...

I think polished lip with a dark anthracite centre always looks good.

Hi Jay, the pic I have is nearly 1mb and I wont be able to upload a pic that size. I know I can resize it but my laptop/netbook will not for some strange reason let me do it. The car is a (w215) CL500 with original Brabus bodykit (although no-one would notice the difference, its just an extra splitter on the front bumper and again a bottom apron for the back bumper). Oh the colour of the car is purple/mauve/almadine quite rare on the CL500 I believe, I have not seen another in the last 4.5years.

With that colour of car I think a polished/laquered lip with a body coloured or black centre would work... cant think of anything else that would go with a purple car..

Toytown?

Wheel centres the same as the main body colour or a dark matt anthracite with polished lip as Jay says, unless you are striving for the Bob the Builder/Postman Pat/ Noddy and Big Ears look of course.;)

Thats close to what I was thinking, almadine(-ish) centres (same as car) but I dont want to go the polished lip/dish route purely because its a nightmare trying to keep them clean. I was thinking of painting the lip/dish in cream/white so they look more exaggerated. I have seen this on the VW Euro scene and it looks like its catching on. I also have another pic of a w211 E55 with painted dishes and it looks stunning, but cant post it here as it has a copyright company name embossed in the pic. Thanks:thumb:

lacquer the lips? Polished lips are an absolute nightmare, I have them on two of my cars and I have to wash them after even a very short journey...
however with laquer they will retain 80% of the look but last infinately longer.

I just cant help but think white will look odd on such a grand car.

Ok, im quite decided now on the colour scheme. Centres will be painted gloss white and the Brabus lettering will be the same colour as the car (almadine). The dishes/lips will be polished and then lacquered. I'll be doing this myself, I got the tools etc and hopefully all 4 wheels should look brand new after a hard days grafting.

The reason for going white on the centres is purely to make the wheels look bigger than they actually are. 18's on a CL can look very small if you get it wrong. I'll post pics once its finished, I'm sure there's a few members here who have probably seen it already in the West London area. One big problem with alot of CL's is that they sit a little bit too high, well mine has been lowered considerably and the tyres tuck into the arches just perfectly. It took a good while to get it perfectly lowered, ABC suspension can be a nightmare, it can go wrong by just looking t it !! Thanks.
