Ml320
I Hope someone can help! i bought a ML320 2007/57 Reg from a dealer and when i purchased the car the sat nav wasnt working. i was assured that this was because the car didnt have a sat nav disc.

i have bought a new nav disc and the sat nav still doesnt work! it just says cannot read disc.. CD's work so i guess its not the reader? do you think its a faulty disc?

any suggestions?

Thanks

How long ago did you buy it ?

Take it back to the dealer , there will be a warranty period , sounds like they have tried to fob you off.

ive knocked off money for the sat nav not working.. so all i need to kno is whats wrong with it

If you have an original map disc in and it won't read the disc then it is probably the laser that is knackered.

Cheapest option is to replace the laser itself.

Have a search on google for NTG2 laser replacement, sure some info will be out there.

Have you put your new Sat Nav Disc in the right drive?

You mention that CD's read OK but the Sat Nav disc doesn't?

My vehicle is a 57 plate also and uses Comand NTG-1 and the Disc Drive is in the boot not the CD head unit on the dash.

Where about in the boot is it? i did check both side and the left is the first aid kit and the right was just fuses? thanks

Don't know on an ML mate, mines an E-Class.

Point I was making is you need to be sure what type of Comand you have first.

Late 2007 is a changeover point, as an example, I believe Developer215 has NTG2.5 in his E-Class which is only a few months newer than mine.

Hi

A/B/C/CLK/ML/GL/R of that age have NTG2 and the map disk goes in the head unit. SLK/E/CLS and the old S/CL have NTG1 where the navigation drive is separate and in the boot.

MY2009 (mid-late 2008 build) was the changeover from NTG1/NTG2 to NTG2.5 (the latter having an internal hard disk and inbuilt bluetooth phone and voice-recogniton alongside, birds-eye view mapping with 7 digit post-code)

Did you buy a genuine map disk or a copied disk?
