Need to reset Comand code?

Am going to change my car battery on my 2003 ML and wanted to know if I am going to need to reset a code on the Comand 2.0 head unit.The reason I ask is I dont know the code and I cannot find it in my paperwork including the Comand owners manual. Having done some research online some sites suggest I will and some suggest a reset code wont be necessary.

Before you change the battery, is there a way to display the code on screen?

Dont think you will need a code. The comand 2.0 in our 2003 CLK does not. If you do then the MB dealer will supply it if you take your V5C and photo id.

Have you got a "spare" +ve terminal under the bonnet as on my 2001 S203 (look in your owners manual under jump starting)? When I had to change the battery on the S203 I had them connect another battery to the spare +ve and the top of the suspension, then disconnect the old battery (careful, everything is still live!!) and install the new battery - so the car never saw a disconnect!!
