and does it leave the paint feeling slick like it has just been waxed?

Hi in answer to the above questions.

Yes it feels slick, I was a little worried about it reducing the look of the car, but it doesn’t and I have been assured there will be no noticeable difference between the front end with PPF and the rest of the car that is getting a ceramic coat. It is self healing, assisted by heat, so any scratches or small to medium damage will heal completely.

It comes machine cut to fit the car in question, with certain elements like the front bumper needing some manual intervention to get a top class finish. You can see in the picture the badges were removed so it didn’t need cutting around them.

We used to use something called 'amourfend' on the front of our 911s. A predesseor of this stuff maybe

Can you polish it afterwards?

No need to polish it, as it gets another coating on top called Halo which gives it additional shine and water protection etc

Any chance of an approximate cost of the Front End?

Hi John,

The Front end – bumper – bonnet- wings & mirrors cost £1495, which is pretty much competitive, well as competitive as I could find after trying several reputable companies.

Are you not having the valences either side finished in the PPF especially immediately behind the wheels?
A place that gets basically blasted with everything the road can throw at it via the tyres!

Had many discussions with several over the valances good point, lots I know have the whole car done. Guess it comes down to personal choice and the experience of others in the end

looks fantastic, will be having mine done when it finally arrives. my detailer has said maybe a mixture of xpel and suntek depending on the area of the car

For those interested the car had the followings:

Deep-Shine Detail Gtechniq Smart Surface Science New Car Preparation Package Completed.

Xpel Ultimate Self Healing Paint Protection Film installed to the front end including :

- Bonnet
- Wings
- Bumper
- Mirror Caps

Xpel PPF treated with Gtechniq Halo Flexible Film coating.

With a light single stage machine polish completed and some localised correction the remaining paint received a full wipe down and inspection then coated with Gtechniq Crystal Serum Ultra topped with EXO receiving a 9 year guarantee.

Wheels and callipers fully prepared and coated with Gtechniq C5 Wheel Armour.

Exterior glass machine polished with G4 before being coated with Gtechniq G1 Clearvision smart glass with three layers being applied to the front screen.

Interior fully treated with C6 Matte Dash, L1 Leather Guard and I1 Smart Fabric

Engine compartment prepared and coating with C4 permanent trim restorer.

I would love to have these products applied to my car but its just so damn expensive to get done! Now im not saying its not worth it, its just i dont have a spare thousand pound + lying around!
