New Car......I've defected

lol, all my jeans are a variation of blue. my biggest concern is the leather being Italian is very soft to the touch so I'm always thinking that it might rip, but so far so gd, did take it out last weekend with a few mates to a beer garden and no one complained of a lack of leg/headroom in the back and both the guys in those seats were 6ft'ers.

Love the GT, definitely one on the list to own soon, you won’t regret owning a Maserati, nothing quite gives you that pang of happiness like when you turn around after parking it up!

I owned a facelift Quattroporte and it gave me no bother at all, most of the horror stories are from pub bores telling a fifth hand story from the 80’s...

Here’s my old QP...

Hi SPX, thats very nice I've always liked the QP's something very sinister about a Black QP being driven in anger. You should definitely get a GT its a fabulous car.

Mmmm that is very nice....great choice. Once you been bitten by a Maser it is hard to get away. I've had 3 but have kept & will be keeping the first. Tempted by a Strad but a V12 itch in the form of an Aston is calling as well.

They sound fab out of the box but a little exhaust tweak is common just to open the noise a smidge. One of the best sounding cars out there.

Thanks Mate, the best comment I've had so far wasn't actually said to me but I overheard, I was in Virginia Waters in Surrey with the wife and as we walked back and got into the car and started to slowly drive out of the car park with the windows down a little boy shouted "Wow, dad look its a Ferrari" to which the Dad responded "No its a Maserati, its much nicer"....I know its trivial but that really made me smile, I know Ferrari's get a bad rep but the cars themselves are amazing and I too would love to own a V12 F-car one day (maybe a 575) unless they continue rising in value like all the other ones.

Indeed & agreed. The thinking man's Ferrari [emoji6] I've never had a bad comment or experience to date so long may it continue.

I like the fact that they are a little more understated & not too shouty. It is what makes the E55K especially in Estate form so attractive & slips uber most people's radar.

You should scratch that AM V12 itch, as I mentioned in my first post it was neck and neck between the Aston and Maserati but a few of the stories from some unlucky owners put me off and of course the need for four seats meant it was a done deal. Had the choice been between a DBS and a Strad I think the outcome would have been different ;).

Drive-by ready...

Had to resize pics as originals were to big, hopefully this will work

That is a beautiful colour combo as others have said (but then I would say that ). They do seem to have got the noise spot on too - I have heard one being driven and it sounded epic :D

Enjoy!

I personally think mine looks nicer (I would say that)
Not only is yours nicer than white, Blu Sofisticato is probably the finest colour on any car ever! I had the same infatuation with Audi’s classic Kingfisher Blue too, really is such a lively colour.

Lovely car :thumb:
I have a passion for Italian motors, there’s just something ‘special’ about owning a performance Italian marque. I move around with my buying of cars and I’m never a one brand man. I drive what feels right and a Maserati GT has always been on the radar, I just need ‘those pesky kids’ to grow up so I can justify buying one without getting into trouble when something/everything needs shifting! Hence the E63s wagon ;)
Have fun and keep us updated, great time of year for widows down and absorb the attention, it is one of the BEST sounding engines out there!

Fantastic car - you are a very lucky man, now go and enjoy it !

Second best, this tops it IMHO but on the Masser, I'd go with the blue as well...

Thank you all for your kind words, I'm looking forward to getting to know the car better over the coming weeks/months and have a few mods in mind that i'll hopefully be able start soon.

Will keep you posted and hopefully will also be able to find a nice R230 SL63 too, if anyone knows of one for sale or owns one and is considering selling then shoot me an email. I ideally want a late model, so 11 or 61 reg with reasonable mileage (less than 40k) and as many toys as possible.

Cheers
