2009 335i DCT
Had a pretty terrible crash on 1st April on the A5 in the C55. A Ford Ranger decided to pull out infront of me and hit it almost head on, didn't even have a chance to brake. Car was a write off as you can see:

Wanted another AMG really, so was looking at E55, CLS55's, etc but I really have no need for a car that big, and the running costs that come with them.

So I settled on a 2009 BMW E92 335i N54 in the exact spec I wanted. Done 53k. Red leather, parking sensors, M Sport highline trim, heated seats, updated IDrive, 12GB internal HDD. Its the twin turbo model, with the DCT gearbox, with full bolt on mods, the torque is immense, totally different engine to the n/a V8, it doesn't hang about. The interior and gearbox are miles ahead of the Merc. Do miss the v8 grumble though.

I've already had the interior silver trim wrapped. Got a few other niggles to sort and its in for a big service next Friday.

The C55 damage should just buff out. Check the detailing section for help... ;)

Seriously, glad you're ok. Some prang.

Congrats on the BMW, nice ride.

Glad you are all okay.

Did you have a rear diffuser on the 55?

Sent from my iPhone using sausage fingers.

I owned an E90 M3 a few years back for a very short period of time, great car all round, but the interior was offensive to anyone with eyes, in particular the dash area just never looked right and I'd forgotten all about it until I bought that other pile of crap X5 a couple of years after. Still have nightmares about that X5...

Wasn't your daughter with you when you crashed? How has she recovered?

No mate.

SPX yeah my son was in the back. He broke his Sternum.

I like the interior. Its a lot nicer than the W203 and the Idrive is way better than the nav in the merc.

Thanks guys.

Blimey that's some impact OP, glad you're in one piece although shame about the car.

Must say the replacement is a very nice looking thing, love that red interior. :)

Cheers Alex, yeah im pleased with it, best colour combo IMO, nearly went for a cream leather one, but glad I got this.

Looked like a heavy smash, glad you're ok but shame an AMG has died. That o/s front tyre looked a bit thin?

Like the BMW, sound nice and certainly more modern than the 203

Looks Awesome.
Where did you get the wrap on the console done ?
Looks ace.

Nice motor mate. My Dad has an identical in Alpine White. It's only got 53k miles on it but unfortunately has had countless issues in the three years he has had it. When it's running well it's immense but very pricey when they go wrong...

Thanks. M-Tec dynamics in Sheffield.

Sambo Looked a bit thin? Eh?

Yeah there are a few common problems with them, all of which mine has had recently done. The HPFP being 1, coils and injectors. Also cracked alloys, all 4 are are spot on.

My congratulations to you on the new purchase and best wishes to your son. Personally I would be looking at a bigger car after a collision like that one, not an even smaller coupe... 5 series if you prefer the BMW. Do running costs really matter when it comes to the wellbeing of the family members? The size does matter. Not being insensitive but you have all the signs right there. Get a bigger car as soon as you can afford it. Enjoy the coupe for now.
