I have a 11 plate c class from new with 37000 miles which i dont drive hard.its needing new pads and discs which an independent has quoted me £320...surely i shouldnt need new discs after 37k,,anyone else experienced any similair problems,,,,,thanks

Pads are very abrasive, if you drive mainly in slow city traffic you use the brakes more.

Look here and you can find out the price of genuine MB parts, your local dealer will likely match or sometimes better these:Mercedes-Benz Parts, Inchcape

The price you quoted seems high for an independent.

These are the current MB prices:Mercedes-Benz UK - Servicing & Repair - Fixed Price Repairs

For a competent mechanic it should be an hours labour,

Facelift w204 eat disks for breakfast... At 37k you have done very well, most don't make it past 30k

Thanks,,i need new front and rear pads and discs so the price doesnt seem too bad in that case

If that was for front and rear then it is a good price, what brand of parts are they using?

No way should you need rear discs after 37,000 miles!

I have a C350 and it gets driven hard. Had new discs and pads on the front at 29k.

My CLK gets driven hard and only needed rear discs & pads at 85,000 miles.
