New E350 Diesel reduced power from 265 to 252?

I don't think the NOx emissions from a diesel passanger car are a major issue but NOx as an emission is more immediately hazardous to health than CO2

Which is what will kill diesels in the end. EU6 will make small diesels uneconomic to produce/buy. EU7 will probably end it.

Diesels win on CO2 and economy. As fuel prices soar and CO2, as much as I think its a red herring, will not dissappear from the agenda. Diesels win on CO2.

For now.. but from what i hear that wont remain the situation... the gap is closing and it is thought to be easier to reduce co2 on petrol than it is to reduce Nox on diesel... but we are talking 5-10yrs not 6mths...

i would have a hybrid - the Infiniti is great - so are the BMW ones.. The air hybrid concept that was in auto car last week looks interesting.

It helps clean down emissions etc for tough EU legistlation.

You can buy top up solutions for it. I think its quite a reliable system, trucks being using it for years.

Think of the children it will save. Surely losing the horsepower for extra clean emissions makes your inner soul feel good ;)

I'm pretty sure it's a reliable system, as you say trucks have used it for ages, it just seems like added hassle and expense but then again if the only other option is an equally irritating DPF, perhaps they are on to something.

All this talk of clean emissions and a clean conscience is making me want another petrol V8:D.

Does Adblu do away with DPF or is it in addition to it?

I am finding the AdBlue thing interesting as when we bought a new truck at work it has the very aforementioned AdBlue tank. I was curious about it as it makes me recall my days on a 2-stroke moped and having to fiddle to add that etc etc how the world turns,,,,

Now on diesel we are regressing again! I understand it cannot be used in NON equipped cars however.
this is unlike adding low sulphur 2-stroke to a regular diesel, that has a marvelous impact on the engine, it is quite a major improving factor in running characteristics!
