Thanks everyone!
Yes, this was on eBay recently and I only went to see it as the owner lived about 2 miles from me!
Had the following work carried out so far:
1.) New Bosh secondary air pump & relay (CEL) - my local indy does have STAR but not the diagnostic capability so they couldn't turn it off.
2.) New genuine front discs & pads - previous owner did replace them about 6 months ago but with non-genuine items and they squeaked no end..
3.) New o/s/f and o/s/r wheels as they were badly bucked on the inside - assume the pothole (or crater etc.) took out both wheels. Fortunately, they're not that expensive at around £150 each. Straightening wasn't an option as my local Lepsons (Gillingham, Kent) told me they'd crack if they attempted this - and at just under £100/wheel it simply wasn't worth it.
4.) New front tyres and new o/s/f and n/s/f lower arms/ball-joints as there was a lot of play evident and it had worn the insides of the front tyres causing a shimmy through the steering wheel
please see this thread Now the wheel is rock-solid, the front end feels much tighter and the car is really great to drive!
5.) o/s/f air suspension unit - paid for by the previous owner (phew!) as I pointed out that the car was sitting a bit lopsided after the test drive. Credit to him that he got it sorted before I parted with any cash.
6.) I even managed to remove, strip and re-solder the broken wires in the n/s mirror, and as well as it operating as it should, the auto dip reverse function now works! Makes up slightly for the lack of parking sensors..
Hopefully it'll leave my wallet alone for a bit, but even if not, I don't mind as it's such a great car
