Whilst comparing the specification of various SUV's I looked through the standard spec for a GLC P Plus and at last MB fit a dashcam to the car. I haven't checked whether it's stand-alone or taken from the forward facing camera , but about time this was offered as std or even an extra.

I did have a new C300 on order and the Dashcam is/was available but I believe there was a significant yearly fee which may be included in the initial 3 year warranty I’m not sure, I believe it used the cameras from the surround system but don’t quote me.

I have a 2021 GLC Premium Plus but this option is not available unfortunately.

Honestly baffled why this isn’t a standard fitment on all premium cars these days. Teslas have had it for 6 years now.

As far as I am aware it uses the Forward Facing Camera, ,it costs £200 to Activate it through Mercedes Me and is a "One Of" charge!

I thought it was a yearly charge unless it's given 3 years as a new vehicle, there's quite a few threads on the pros and cons of this type of dash cam on this forum, just make sure you have augmented reality otherwise it doesn't work, at least that is what I was told by MB

It's pretty crap though because I read you have to constantly start a recording when you get in the car

I've been finalising the spec on a Porsche Macan and apparently , although it's all pre-wired at the factory, the estimated cost to purchase and fit by the dealer is circa £800.00

Porsche ?

As in another thread, love my c250 , had it for 5 years, a new one will cost £55k, for an extra £10k I can get behind the wheel of a 2lt Macan.I'm sure the residuals on a 3 year old Macan will recoup my extra £10k outlay.
Must say my favorite all time car is a Porsche albeit a 911 so don't blame you for looking to buy one, enjoy.

Always said that if I had the correct 6 numbers the 1st item on the list would be a 911 C4S , happy to settle for the Macan.

Hi my A250E has Mercedes dashcam system it uses the forward facing camera.
It downloads to a special USB attachment in the Center Console.

Costs is the factor.
Don't forget that having an operational dash cam may become mandatory in the coming years and many will not want this, EG rule breakers.

HGV etc have those tachographs and I feel these will be the first group of vehicles to have them
