I have decided that I am fed up of having no FM reception and CDs are so ten years ago

I have installed this little beastie, no cd player, but 2 USBs 1 SD 1 aux and bluetooth streaming. Plus all the DAB channels

The only problem is I dont know where to wire the remote for the amp, can anyone advise me on which wire I splice into. My old head unit had a lead. :dk:

Good modern amps don't have a remote any more, they trigger from the RCA or high Level inputs, so its unlikely a modern radio will have a wire.

Ok, I have plugged the pre-outs in but no life yet. will have another look tomorrow, thanks.

The power aerial wire (typically blue or blue with a white tracer) is a 12V remote out

Normally a blue wire and sometimes says Remote or Antenna on it.

I think all radios will have it, as it is needed to turn the aerial amp on if nothing else.

As above. .Blue wire.
Did the stereo not have any diagram on it? Most do these days.

I could not see one relating to the amp, but I had an after market plug in and play unit with it, the old amp remote wat wired in through the red live (previous owner) there is a blue wire on the harness but it goes from plug to plug, do I splice into that.

You can try it to see if it works. Just do the usual test by ensuring the amp turns off when the stereo is off.

Alternatively tapping into the 12v red live will work just as well, as long as the amp turns off when the vehicle is off. If your stereo doesn't turn on when the key isn't turned in the ignition you should be ok.
