Hey all, newbie here saying hi

Looks like a good site - may I aska question right away?


I am considering chopping my Jag in for a W220 S Class.
I'm looking at either the 320 petrol or diesel or the S500 - I'd love an AMG 55 if one came up at the right price & condition.

Obviously each car has to be taken on its own merits but any advice around those 3 specific models or any other model recommendations would be gratefully received.

In particular and seeing how I've been burned by a failed Jag gearbox, what are the Merc boxes like over higher mileages?
Are they tough?
What box oil change frequency should I ideally be looking for in the service history?
etc

Thanks boys & girls, we already have an E class and it's a cracking car so am hopeful of sorting something S wise in due course.

Every 40k for gearbox oil reaally.

Look out for worn suspension and make sure EVETYTHING works.

Great cars but can be expensive to run.

Hi, I am Jason Hennessey from Atlanta, GA & I'm new to this site.
I am a new comer & have just put forward my first step in the vast
& fast world of Internet & Web. I don't have much knowledge but
would like to gain & share whatever i have.

By the way a friend of mine will me migrating to Uk so he sold his Toyota Prius to me, the problem is that I really don't have knowledge regarding Prius. I know how to drive, what I'm trying to say is that I don't have knowledge regarding its ELECTRIC MOTOR, ENGINE, and CHASSIS.

I'm positively looking forward to the forum and its members, hope all will guide, share and help me to increase my knowledge.
