The one on the left is the new one.
The one on the right is due to be removed.
The new ones have a massive base. The workers didn't know if their chargers will be any faster than the old ones, though.

Imho. from a purely aesthetic perspective, the now ones do win hands down don't they.?

No idea who initiated this. But it's all over the area (Westminster). It will be nice if the new chargers will be faster than the old ones, but who knows.
