Hello everyone,
I’m looking forward to communicating with you in the forum. After about 40 years of BMWs, (mostly company cars), I decided to buy my first Mercedes 3 years ago and never looked back. It was a C220d coupe. A fabulous car but a bit uncomfortable on the back because of the hard suspension. I‘m nearly 75 by the way. Then I switched to a GLC 250d which was more comfortable but a bit boring to drive. So my current car is an E400 coupe which is absolutely fantastic. It has just about every option fitted and the air body control is kinder to my back. I’ll definitely be keeping this for a few years especially as my wife loves it too.

Welcome, and what a nice car.

An E Class on Air is as serene as you can get this side of an S Class.

I've has my E500 for 5 years now, I bought it when it was 7 years old and barely run in on 55k miles. Now it's on 77k and still tight as a drum. It replaced another one which I had for 5 years and which I sold when it was 12 and on 145k.

I vaguely looked at CLS63's a few months ago but decided I might as well stick with what I've got.

The only thing lacking in mine is the ancient infotainment - I'm about to get an OEM retrofit to sort that.

But your car will no doubt have the large digital dash which will keep it current for many years to come.

Hi LondonScottish,
Many thanks for your kind welcome. Yes my E400 coupe does have the wide cockpit which is wonderful and it also has Head-up display which is marvellous. I had a look at a CLS 400d coupe a couple of months ago as I wanted to see what 4 doors would be like but I was more than happy to stick with my 2 door petrol coupe.

I recently helped a mate of mine by an E Class with the wide dash and I try not to think about it LOL. Still, at least mine will soon be all Googled up :-)

HUD's are really interesting but my advice is make sure you've got windscreen cover on your insurance. A mate of mine had an X50M and had to pay a huge amount when he cracked it because he'd accidentally omitted it.
