New member with new E53 hybrid

Hello everyone,

I’m thrilled to join the community as I prepare to take delivery of my E53 hybrid within the next 48 hours. This will be my first experience with a Mercedes, following my previous vehicle, a Porsche Taycan GTS. I’m eager to return to a traditional engine and hope it meets my expectations.

Additionally, I wanted to share that finding the graphite grey color for this model online was quite challenging during my search while the long wait. However, I must say, it looks fantastic in person! So hopefully this might help some else if in the market with this colour

Out of curiosity, why back to ICE?

I owned an M5 about 3 years ago, which proved to be quite a fuel-guzzler. As a result, I opted for a Porsche, as it was the only electric vehicle design that truly appealed to me. Unfortunately, that car is now RIP, prompting me to make a relatively swift decision. In my view, the new M5 is not aesthetically pleasing, although it may grow on me over time. Another Porsche, on the other hand, becomes prohibitively expensive once you start adding options, and they do not offer any deals with high APR rates. The only other fully electric vehicles that catch my interest are the new Renault 5 and the ID Buzz, which are cool but not quite my style. I decided on this AMG model, having never owned a Mercedes before, it combines speed with elegance and is economical for short trips to the store. 285mpg apparently on the datasheet which is laughable but helps on the benefit in kind tax.

Welcome to the club I looked at one in Tonbridge and just thought Mercedes M4, But the guy in the sales department knew absolutely nothing about the car and had to get a jump pack to open it! sort of put me off. Enjoy.

Congratulations and welcome. Very nice car indeed , hope it serves you well. I very much liked the E53 (estate though for practicality ) and the 6 cylinder sounds amazing too (subject to OPF noise restrictions) . Let us know how you get on once you pick it up and have a good run in it
