So I have recently purchased a 2004 54 plate facelift w203 C220 cdi estate.

So far so good although I do have some of the "usual" issues in that No1 glow plug has snapped and the auto box is a bit "jumpy" when cold.

The glow plug issue doesn't worry me and I have already purchased a removal kit ready to sort it when the weather is warmer and guess I will just pay someone to do a gearbox service (been quoted £195).

Coventry based and for the last 7yrs had a C5 diesel estate which served me very well so hope the Merc is as good

Hi and Welcome to the forum, Good choice of engine, there pretty unbreakable tbh, The jerk from cold is pretty normal for the 5 spd box, ive found usually just does it once on its 1st gear change when cold.

I friend had w203 that did it, his w211 also does it, mine does it to. £195 sounds about right to for a fluid and filter change.
