Hello

Anyone seen the new advert for the Mercedes SL.

With the line...

I am Mercedes Benz.....

Its awful IMO. They did a good set a few years ago with the "some are better than movement than others". They should have stuck with that

And to think someone got paid a lot of money for that awful slogan

Already discussed HERE :)

Unlike everyone else, I like it, I think it has a certain 'class' about it...

I always REALLY DISLIKED the "LORD WONT YOU BUY ME A MERCEDES BENZ" adverts.
There is needy/starving people all over the World, then THAT!
Does that seem weird?

P.S. I am not a church user accept for the normal, (weddings etc.) or a Morman :-)

Yes it is a bit weird. It's only as commercial as everything else around you - including your car!

Thought i may have been on my own, especially as im on a MERCEDES BENZ Enthusiasts Site :-).

I always thought the Ad was vulgar and pretentious.

I loved the ad. Anyone who wants to sell their Mercedes and give the money to the poor is free to do so.

But aspiring to better ourselves has always been the prime engine of progress and growth and has enabled living standards to rise throughout time.

Long may people want to create and have more and better things.

It's brand-based as opposed to model based - this one is tagged "Presence" while the next two in the series are "Attraction" and "Ambition".

As a slight aside, MB UK don't seem to run the TV ads that are seen throughout the rest of the world, although the press ads seems to be fairly good.

I remember watching the S-Class ad with the missing hamster and "Song 2" at Milton Keynes one afternoon - most of us consultants loved it, but it went down like a lead balloon with the suits and never saw the light of day over here.
