New owner help

Having just received my first MB (C350e) I am struggling to find my way around a few bits. You guys will get me there quicker than me scouring more you tube vids and reading the user manual.
1. What does the C mean in the top left of the multifunction display?
2. I have auto installed the phone book from my IPhone 5S but the contact list has loads of names that look like they are maybe from emails etc. I just want my phone book like it appears in my phone. Is this possible? (Its the Audio 20).
3. Can I set up speed dials?

C = comfort mode
S = sport
S+ = sport +
I* = individual
I don't have audio 20 so can't help with that but comand downloads email contacts as well.
