'And remember, Comand is not only a satnav unit.'
True. For over £300 squid you can get a bluetooth device to allow you to use your mobile with it. £300 plus for a bluetooth device. Now that is ' havin a larffff "
'DaveK,
Alife is well respected here and helps a lot of people out.
Did I say they didn't ?
'All Mercedes cars and accessories are expensive. Its the price you pay for driving one of the best cars in the world.'
Point taken except the Command system is hardly the best system in the world. It has become outdated very quickly . Mine will take hundreds of pounds to make it usable so it sits in my dash in the off position. The maps are missing too many streets to be of any use and i can't use my Nokia N73 with it. At least my mates Prius ( 3 years old ) has up to date maps and we can both use our phones with it
Why hundreds?
All it needs is a new nav disk, and these can be bought quite reasonably (if you know where to look). A 2006/7 disk can be bought for less than a hundred pounds. Quite a bit less.

What personal attack?
'Funny you say that because the sat Nav in her Prius is the most awful piece of kit I've ever come across.'
Thats a bit strong coming from some one pedaling the extras for MB's cash hungary Command Systems
Only cost, complexity and is it genuinely helping the environment in a worthwhile way. Costly to install regenerative braking and a bank of long-life rechargeable batteries and an electric motor in addition to the main engine. And lots to go wrong. Try and get a Lexus dealer to tell you what it all costs to replace if it goes wrong after 60k miles.Hopefully only slightly off-topic, but is there any reason why technologies such as regenerative braking should not be installed in all new cars, as it seem to make quite a bit of difference to in town driving in terms of fuel economy and emissions (and noise, bearing in mind ***'s comments ).

Yes, but apart from that!...... Just kidding. Valid points all of them, it just seemed to me to be a quick fix, but should have know better. Perhaps as the technology improves and becomes cheaper.....
