SL320
Well i just bought a 1997 sl320 that had been sitting for about a month not being used. I know the vehicle ran good before it sat but Now out of the blue It has absolutely no power, in neutral if you ever so gently ease on the accelerator it will rev up but not well it hesitates and breaks up. if you arnt very gentle when you hit the gas pedal it falls on it face and starts stuttering/ popping. I scanned the car and Im getting codes p0300 multiple cylinder misfire, p0301 cylinder 1 misfire and p0305 cylinder 5 misfire.

So far what ive done

1. I added 10 gallons of premium gas and some dry gas to see if the gas was the issue and it didnt help.

2. I checked the air filter to make sure its clean or mice hadnt nested in there

3. jacked the care up and lightly tapped on the catalytic converter with a rubber mallet to see if they sounded like anything was lose in there and they seem fine.

4. Quickly checked over the vacumn lines and wiring for any obvious issues.

The car only has 53k on it and is in very nice shape, i would really love to take my new car for a drive, any help on this would be greatly appreciated

Clean the spark plugs and distributor?

I'll check the plugs but this has 3 coil packs that each do 2 cylinders a piece. Since the two cylinders that are affected dont share a coil i dont believe they are the issue.

Check that your oil breather pipes etc' are clean and that the pinhole in the cover they go to are not blocked. This same thing happened to me recently and cost me a fortune in parts because the diagnostics told me this that and the other had gone when it was just the pipes and cover full of crap.
