They've nicked the wheels from a 997 Turbo.

Still not growing on me - just not an elegant design. Maybe in the flesh it works better?

I still don't like the new look front. And I wouldn't of chosen those wheels.
I prefer yours Malcome.

Horrible Flash-Harry wheels from downtown Miami. And where has the wonderfully distinctive and aesthetic front end gone. One of the most beautiful cars ever is no longer.

I see that white is being pushed! Is white really going to be the new silver? Wow, I've gone off topic already  :D

Nice car and nice pictures.

Regards
John

Nice photo...shame about the car! Do you think that the front number plate is strictly legal as it not "a flat surface" but from the photo very curved. No doubt Merc will ensure it is legal.

Looks a bit bling to me! But then, I do have a camper van, the shame of it!

Oh dear! I think I prefer the look of the 997 to the new SL.However still prefer my R230 overall

Those wheels are pretty much exactly the same ...

Do you think AMG didn't have any wheels knocking around so borrowed a set off a car in their car park ? ;)

Just delivered at a dealers. Looks amazing IMO!

Notice how the bonnet appears to have a raised centre section? maybe its down to pedestrian crash test regulations perhaps?

what about this one?

It will be less, probably ali too, and the FIA versions roof wont come off. It doesn't have to be road legal.

At a guess that is.

Toattly agree the F1 cars are anything but road legal if they are anything like the vehicles I saw in a documentary that featured the pace car for this series. I believe the roof is a permanant feature that is also strengthened to take the warning lights. They are also noted for the very nice noise that oozes from the little pipes at the back of the car

The "black series" cabs already have a fixed roof, btw.

I also preferred the old nose more. This one to me is intended to please American taste and usually it does not go along with the MB classic lines, in my opinion.

The same with the face lift E-class. But time may easily make me feel differently.
