- Probably best i don't say, but love the forum so lurking about!
Hi,
Been lurking around for a couple of months now and having always been a bit of a BMW fan it still feels a little odd that i'm here!!
Having gone through a job change the company Audi had to be returned, so took the decision to buy a cheaper car and run it for a couple of years. This would be to pay for the Caterham which i have always wanted to build!!
Through a fortunate bit of timing, a good friend of mine mentioned that he was trying to sell his car - 1999 C43 AMG! Having already seen the car and knowing its history i jumped at it!! It's a good honest car, mechanically excellent (you should see the folder of service docs etc etc), bodywork has marks but nothing you can't live with and effectively rust free. The only reason that my friend was selling was that 4 cars and a work van were starting to annoy his wife and he is enjoying his other projects too much!
Chuffed to bits, to be honest, and after a months driving i'm loving it. Just come out of a 2013 Subaru WRX STI and to say it is a different driving experience is a huge understatement!! Although the C43 actually uses less petrol - and i'm still 'enjoying' myself in it too!!
I'll try to put some pictures up over the weekend but the car is as standard in silver, so you get the idea.
I will try to get out and meet some of you guys at some point as it would be great to have some support when the time comes to embark on repairs!!
Matt.
