Time has come to replace all 4 tyres on my W124 300D. Currently running ContinentalEco 196/65 R15, which must have been on for over 3 years..

Have a price of £52 per tyre, fitted and balanced from my little village garage for a direct replacement or £35 per tyre for a good budget replacement...

I'm quite happy with the Conti's - but tempted by budget tyres - has anyone any other suggestions?

Depends on what the budgets are as there a good ones and bad ones out there.

£52 for the contis doesn't sound that bad given its a small local firm and fitting is included I assume??

i'd go with the conti's at that price. i bet the budget brand wont last 3 years...

i have conti prem contact 2's on the rear of my 124 estate. brilliant tyres and last set lasted really well and current set are doing well too, especially being on the back. However i have michalins on the front and they are not wearing well at all..... i only got them as i needed tyres that day (as i wanted new ones for my 4 wheel alignment) and they didnt have conti's in stock. next time i'll get conti's again in advance

saying that, our Alfa has budget branded tyres on it all round - they are lasting very well.
