As in the title does any one know what system is used for the Comand navigation in the 204? ie. Do you load it up with a DVD disk and is it similar to the outgoing W203 DVD or another such as in the W211?

How can I find out what the latest DVD is and are they updated every year.

Many thanks its just that when I gat my ML a couple of years back I had to push them to give me the latest software as the one that came with it was 2 yrs out of date....
All thanks to the help on this forum I had prior knowledge of what was what...

The new W204 navigation is hard drive based. I Assume that when the time comes a dvd update is loaded into the dvd changer in the dash and it does its stuff.

Was blisteringly quick when i gave it a bash.

It come preloaded on the HDD with presumably the latest update.

No sure if a DVD is needed for further updates or the dealer will update for you at a price of course.

You can get a DVD much like the older system's the difference being it can be removed after the update.

Some dealer's keep a disk and charge for the update and others sell them like older DVD's.

Thats why its much faster (as per Fuzzer) than having to access a DVD.

Sound great then. :)

Thanks

M.
